Mr. MJH Jabed

MJH Jabed joined Bangladesh Civil Service (Foreign Affairs) in May 2003. At the Bangladesh foreign ministry Jabed served as an assistant secretary and senior assistant secretary in economic affairs, international organizations, law of the sea, research and ICT sections during 2003-2010. He served Bangladesh embassy in Washington, DC as a first secretary/counsellor (political) from 2010-2013 and Bangladesh high commission in New Delhi as a counsellor (political) from 2013-2014. He graduated from the University of Dhaka in 1998 majoring international relations and did a certificate course in commercial diplomacy from Carleton University of Canada in 2001. He did his Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy with credit courses at the Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University in 2005-07. He served as a teaching assistant at the Tufts University Department of Political Science during spring and fall semesters of 2006. He was a Hansard Research Scholar on democracy and public policy at the London School of Economics of UK in 2010. Before entering the foreign service Jabed worked at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD)-a public policy think-tank of Bangladesh-as a research associate and the Bangladesh Observer as a features writer. Jabed has publications in peer-reviewed journals on regional cooperation, global governance, global trade regimes and security.
